The Stimulus Package map pack has been the subject of much controversy over the past few weeks because of its hefty $15 price tag. In the last week, information surfaced that suggested the price tag was as a result of an expensive advertising campaign. Nothing has slowed down this juggernaut of a game since its launch last November, and it’s not looking like that’s going to change anytime soon.
Modern Warfare 2 has sold over 10 million copies for the Xbox 360 worldwide with almost 7 million of those sold in North America. Considering more than 2.5 million gamers purchased the DLC through the Xbox Live, more than a quarter of the gamers who own the game for Xbox 360 felt it was worth it. This is where we really have to stop and ask ourselves a very important question: was the Stimulus Package really overpriced, or are game companies just undercharging us for other content we buy online? We here at Game Rant definitely feel like this is a precedent that we do not want to become the norm.
