Wordle, the daily word-guessing puzzle now owned by the New York Times, rose to extreme popularity and has fans returning day after day to test their luck and wits. The game is popular among old and young alike, and one such young fan received an impressive birthday cake based off of Wordle.

Redditor nonvideas shared photos of the cake that their wife created for their son, Jamie. The round cake is covered with decorations that look like they’re straight out of Wordle, with all of the words filled in. The cake reads ‘Happy Birth Times Jamie,’ fittingly, as Wordle requires users to enter a five letter word with each guess. With ‘Jamie’ being the correct word for this puzzle, the correct and incorrect letters are all properly color coded, just like one would expect from the actual game. There’s only four lines, rather than the six guesses players normally get, but that would have taken a much larger cake to achieve.

According to nonvideas, the cake took 4-5 hours to create, and another 3-4 just to decorate it. It’s a very impressive tribute to the game, and one that would likely delight any fan of Wordle on their birthday. Of course, fans were quick to point out that choosing the words ‘Happy,’ ‘Birth,’ and ‘Times’ would be pretty dreadful guesses to make in the actual game, as there’s a number of missing common letters in Wordle and some overlap between guesses. Nonvideas notes that the Mom considered building a cake that would follow the standard strategies of guessing the Wordle word, but instead opted for a birthday greeting that would still work within the context of the puzzle.

Other than teases about the guesses made on the cake, fans seemed very appreciative and excited by the creation. Others noted how much work it must have taken, as the interior of the cake carries on the checkered color pattern, which is a difficult and time-consuming technique to achieve in baking. Given that Wordle was originally designed to be a fun puzzle gift to a significant other, it only seems appropriate for the puzzle to inspire another loving gift to a family member.

Wordle is available now.
