In the video, which has been viewed more than 7 million times, Katie Ned, @katie_ned11 can be seen at the water park, about to go down a slide with a male companion.

As the lifeguard prepares to send the couple shooting down, he loses his balance and plummets down the shoot after them. The text reads, “when the lifeguard gets cocky,” leading one TikToker to write, “he wanted a free ride.”

Aqua Dream, Turkey’s biggest water park, is situated in the far southwest of the country, with a capacity of more than 2,000 people per day.

Although this video has nearly 1 million likes, it’s certainly not the only time that theme parks went viral in summer 2022.

Dollywood

In early September, country music singer Dolly Parton said that her theme park, Dollywood, would pay the education costs of all of its employees. The Grow U program will start early in 2023 and cover the full cost of tuition, fees and books for employees who choose to go into further education. It will be available for all staff, from the first day of their employment. Parton also made the news in 2020 for personally donating $1 million of her own money to help fund the COVID-19 vaccine.

Family Holiday

A debate raged online in summer 2022 after a mom on Mumsnet wrote that her children had made friends on holiday with two brothers, aged 5 and 8, whose parents allegedly left them unattended at the pool. Many Mumsnet users were critical of the parenting after several incidents of children drowning in 2022.

Teen Humiliation

A family and a water park in Illinois clashed over the treatment of their 13-year-old daughter. The girl was allegedly asked to stand on weighing scales in front of a crowd of strangers at Raging Rivers Waterpark in Grafton, which revealed that she was 205 pounds, when the weight limit was 200. A representative for the attraction said that, although it was not their intention to embarrass the daughter, Raging Rivers must enforce weight limits. “We will continue to follow manufacturer guidelines for safety while offering our guests a fun experience at Raging Rivers Waterpark.”
